Review: LICENSED TO THRILL 3 by Diane Capri
This absorbing boxed set contains the first three novels in the Judge Willa Carson series: DUE JUSTICE; TWISTED JUSTICE; SECRET JUSTICE. Willa [Wilhelmina] lives a life few of us can attain: formerly of Detroit, Willa and her husband George live in Tampa, on Plant Key, in an illustrious antique mansion George inherited. Willa holds a lifetime appointment as a Federal Justice, and former banker George is a restaurateur. Their "six degrees of separation" includes a Senator, a television news anchor, physicians, and very wealthy attorneys.
But like all of us, they have vulnerabilities. Willa' s is family. At her mother's death when Willa was 16, she was taken in by her mother's best friend Kate, a widow with two sons. Later a third child appeared, a daughter, whose feelings of abandonment developed into a neurosis, and left her moody, secretive, and reckless. She is Willa' s potential downfall.
Diane Capri is a past master at generating complex plots, taut suspense, and deep characterization. This boxed trio will keep readers glued to the page.
