Review: CONVERGENCE by Trudi Hayes
A magical contemporary fantasy in which three seventh-graders meet, bond, and experience maturing character. Not as easy as it sounds--they must undertake the proverbial "Hero's Journey" [so.aptly described by Joseph Campbell] and "fight for the right," as well as opposing bullying. They will discover all is not as it seems and not everyone can be trusted. I believe this is going to be a series.
