Review: BLOND HAIR, BLUE EYES by Karin Slaughter

A short story prequel to Karin Slaughter' s newest novel, PRETTY GIRLS, this story proves that horror doesn't have to be alien, otherworldly, or supernatural to be terrifying and implacable. A tautly-written piece that touches on a number of contemporary issues, BLOND HAIR, BLUE EYES left me with the persistent thoughts of "unavoidable" and "implacable." I shan't soon forget it.
