REVIEW: HOME FOR THE WEEKEND by Duncan Whitehead
This short story, a psychological thriller, proves both that suspense can be commenced, ratcheted tautly, and released with a shocker, in a shorter piece as well as in a novel; and that a story doesn't need to be outright horror to terrify. Reading this took only a few minutes, yet I still have goosebumps and my insides are still all shook up. 12 stars for this one--it's exceptional!
