This anthology is “quite different,” in fact it is specifically designed to showcase writers “new” to horror. So with that in mind, reading these stories in which the horror is sublime, or overt; psychological or mythical; homegrown or “foreign,” I found it surprising that yes, there is real horror here, and very well written too. Clearly each of the ten authors has a future in horror, should she or he wish it. Kudos to May December Publications for coming up with this idea, and then for bringing it into reality. Each one of these stories is divergent, and each is a winner. Now I’ve got a new subset of authors for whom to watch!
