I read this book three days before the specified date; and it was SCARY. A month or so ago I read Larry Enright’s “12-21-12,” which I enjoyed very much and which I found-hopeful. This one SCARED me. Earthquakes at midnight? Rise of the Dead? [shudder]-Zombie’Pocalypse? Oh dear oh dear!
Despite the fear factor, the story is compelling, the characters are well-drawn, and I raced through it. I just wish I’d read it-well, months ago.
