Review of Rick & Wylie’s Fantastical, Magical Adventures: Book One, Journey to the Kingdom by Andy Katsina

Folks, this is not your ordinary YA novel. This novel takes suspension of disbelief and yanks it on its ugly little head. In moments (or sentences) you’ll be so involved you won’t realize that “things like this just don’t happen” because here they most definitely do happen. The delightful father-daughter pair of eco-documentarian Rick and thirteen-going-on-fourteen insatiably curious Wylie take a much needed vacation in Kaui, Hawaii. In the process the duo discover magical new worlds, and Rick learns that Wylie is even more intuitive than he formerly believed. Tricked and stalked by an inscrutable Oriental shopkeeper, Mr. Fang, Wylie and Rick must battle evil to save the Universe. (Mr. Fang reminds me so much of that beloved elusive and nearly immortal Oriental mastermind, Dr. Fu Manchu, so I couldn’t help rooting for him, just a little ).
This is the first in a trilogy, so get in on the ground floor and don’t miss out.

I received an e-book copy from the author in return for my fair and impartial review.
