SOULMINDER is an exciting and riveting near-futuristic science fiction adventure by accomplished and prolific author Timothy Zahn. In addition to an excellent writing style, the story is rife with metaphysical and theological and pragmatic issues, and situations that quite possibly could come to pass, in a future not so distant from our present.
Medical professional Adrian Sommer loses his beloved five- year-old son in an automotive accident, witnessing the moment life left the boy's fragile body, and he becomes obsessed with preserving the soul during times of bodily trauma. Eventually he develops "Soulminder," a mechanism which temporarily houses the soul.
