Review: THE RECKONING by Rennie Airth

I reviewed an ARC provided by the Penguin First to Read Program.

Review: THE RECKONING by Rennie Airth

A fascinating and fast-paced mystery which reveals more than one historical era in delicately-painted detail. The events of the main plot occur in the British Isles, both England and Scotland, in 1947. Britain still lingers under the pall of World War Ii, with continuing shortages and petrol rationing. Much has changed, many were lost. Careers ended and individuals commenced new ways of living. But no can forget the War, and many still toil under the memories of an earlier horrible conflict, the First World.

In this novel, both Wars have a long, tragic, murderous reach, and many individuals will fall under the umbrella of a vengeance intent upon --a RECKONING.
