Review: THE CHILD'S PAST LIFE Release

REVIEW: THE CHILD'S PAST LIFE is an intriguing multi-level mystery set in China. For Western readers, we need a minor extra stretch because of unfamiliarity with the background and setting, but the story is well worth it. Protagonist Shen Min, Chinese Communist Party loyalist and teacher at a secondary level (high school) boarding school, is a sneaky fellow who hides his secrets even from himself. In short order in June of 1995, he is accused of the poison murder of a student; arrested; released; kills, then is killed---and finally, even though he doesn't believe, reincarnated--determined to identify his killer.
