"THE LAST TOWN" is the incredible conclusion to author Blake Crouch's amazingly imagined Wayward Pines trilogy (or is it? I have an intuition, and a hope, we just might encounter these characters again, somewhere down the line). This installment is gory, graphic, riveting; the action is non-stop and very, very deadly; the assailants are "monstrous" and the secret of their identity even more so. Yet author Crouch finds time to weave in the emotional components, backstory, and the ongoing loves and conflicts of his characters.
Just remember: in Wayward Pines, Colorado, not just the "monsters" are monstrous.
