REVIEW: THE WINDERMERE WITNESS (Persimmon Brown #1) by Rebecca Tope

REVIEW: THE WINDERMERE WITNESS by Rebecca Tope

Rebecca Tope, author of the Thea Osborne Mystery series, commences a new series with protagonist Simmy (Persimmon) Brown. After a failed marriage and unhappy divorce, Simmy has settled in the scenic rural English Lakes District as owner of a florist shop, a position for which she has studied and been certified. Her aging but lively parents operate a bed & breakfast in.the area. Life is good, if not nearly perfect in a region relying on tourism, and Simmy' s contract for local "wedding of the year" will neatly cement her profits. But tragedy mars the wedding, and unfortunate Simmy was the last non-family member to converse with the hapless victim.

A gentle cosy mystery, suffused with scenery and excellent characterizations, THE WINDERMERE WITNESS and its series are set to delight.
