Review: A MAN OF SORROWS by James Craig
Yet another outstanding Inspector John Carlyle London police procedural by accomplished author and journalist James Craig. This is number 6, and this time, Carlyle, that intrepid, gritty, old-school "copper" skates awfully close to that thin line dividing law and criminality, partly by his own actions, but also due to certain others who have their own agenda and a need for a scapegoat. Also in this mystery, both Carlyle' s spouse Helen and daughter Alice figure prominently: Helen for a potential health crisis, and Alice as she flexes her independence from parents and home rules.
