Review: ARMAGGEDON YELLOWSTONE: HELL UNLEASHED  by Terry Rich Hartley

I think the best apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic stories are those which personalize the suffering and endurance. Sue, the events themselves--nuclear holocaust, pandemics, asteroid impacts, the Yellowstone Supervolcano--are "bigger-than-life," "big screen," earth-changing processes, are in themselves enormous "special effects."  But learning how these effect different individuals, families, and groups for me humanizes and simultaneously vilifies the Apocalypse. After all, when and if, it will be individuals, families, and groups enduring the consequences.

ARMAGEDDON YELLOWSTONE: HELL UNLEASHED brings home the monstrous possibility, of the Supervolcano that undergirds Yellowstone reaching its long overdue eruption. But it isn't just the Earth striking out. In this novel, "monsters" walk the Earth disguised as humans. That makes the story even more terrifying--and engrossing.
