Back in the mid-1980's, sociologists decided females unmarried by age 35 were, quite simply, "out of luck." Forget it--you've used up your chances, there ain't no more. Be a Spinster. Well, Maggie just hit 39: no husband, no kids [although she does have a live-in boyfriend]. Suddenly, the lack of achieved societal goals strikes hard. What's a girl to.do: lie down and play dead? Or get proactive?
