CHIMERA is just perfect YA science fiction: it reads smoothly, it kept me turning the pages, eager to see what happened next, it's written understandably [granted, I've been reading science fiction with glee for more than 5.5 decades; but a reader brand-new to Sci fi can walk into this novel and totally enjoy!]. What I also admire so much is the big human questions--including the proposition that no matter how distant humans travel, no matter how many generations pass on a new planet--some things never change, including human nature. I can't wait to read Book 2.
