I really like author Giacomo Papi' s approach. Not zombies nor a pandemic virus decimating humanity; instead the Dead return: not as ghosts, nor spirits,but in the flesh--their own. The doctor who finds one of the very first returnees says:"It's very strange; either he's dead or he's just been born."
Like newborns, the Dead hunger and thirst. On a planet straining under the resource demands of nearly 8 billion populace, this sudden influx of all those who ever lived--extending back into all the eras preceding written history--precipitates a crisis of a magnitude never before imagined.
Well-written and well-translated, this novel will find immediate favor with all us apocalypse fans.
