As her story unfolds, archaeologist Elizabeth -- a woman who once abandoned her marriage and family for the pursuit of her career --discovers that modernity also-- indeed, contemporary woman's grasp on consensus reality--also lies "only lightly" on this historic, nay, prehistoric, locale.
