Review: THEY SHALL BEGIN AGAIN by Giacomo Papi

I really like author Giacomo Papi' s approach. Not zombies nor a pandemic virus decimating humanity; instead the Dead return: not as ghosts, nor spirits, but in the flesh--their own. The doctor who finds one of the very first returnees says:
"It's very strange; either he's dead or he's just been born."

Like newborns, the Dead hunger and thirst. On a planet straining under the resource demands of nearly 8 billion populace, this sudden influx of all those who ever lived--extending back into all the eras preceding written history--precipitates a crisis of a magnitude never before imagined.

Well-written and well-translated, this novel will find immediate favor with all us apocalypse fans.

Review: RETURN OF THE LOVING DEAD by Aramintha Star Matthews and Stan Swanson

DELIGHTFULLY refreshing! Finally, a YA paranormal- apocalyptic that keeps the drama where it belongs, in the background, settings, and plotting. Forget the high school drama divas; forget the teenage angst! This is serious business, a story I could not put aside. Well-written, humorous, realistic: the novel let me suspend from the very first page, as it should be. BRING ON THE SEQUEL!!! Love with the "living impaired" rocks!

REVIEW: PERMANENT INTERESTS by James Bruno

Riveting political espionage thriller: this is not "terrorism" as we think.we know it, or as we expect. Instead, this revolves around a conspiracy far more insidious, one which cares not who had to die, nor how many. The unlikely but likeable hero sort of falls into the case (wrong place, wrong time) and demonstrates his.good moral character by determining to unravel, and end, this conspiracy.

REVIEW:THE MANHEIM HORROR by Brett Williams

If you've ever wondered if the traditional haunted-house horror theme could be successfully transferred to our modern Digital Age, ponder no more: here it is, and author Brett Williams delivers it with a special deft touch, rendering the scares SCARY and the horror HORRIFYING. Poor protagonist Gordon Manheim, a quite intelligent guy, must work a midnight computer engineering service call; let the readers be even wiser, and read this short story in the daytime.

REVIEW: TAKE ONE WITH YOU by Oak Anderson

TAKE ONE WITH YOU by Oak Anderson is an enormously accomplished novel, made all the more so by it status as a debut. What Mr. Anderson does with his novel is simply incredible. Those who have moral issues centering around quality of life or who oppose gritty, graphic violence may not approve--but everything in this story works exactly as it is supposed to and functions according to its defined purpose. I loved it.

TAKE ONE WITH YOU is gritty, edgy, pushing the envelope of moral relativism and stretching it w-a-y-o-u-t there, and it is superb. I loved it.

REVIEW: EXTRALIFE, INC. by Kfir Luzzatto

From the "Warning" appended at the very start, plus the first few pages, we readers are tossed into the hot water of this thriller and can only read on with entranced excitement as the temperature rises to boiling. No need to wait for a reader's hook here! The action, adventure, danger, and deceit commence immediately. From a simple medical patent concern in the State of Israel we are catapulted across the globe and into startling, shocking, incredible revelations. We come away from this amazing medical thriller realizing the accuracy of the proverb, "If it's too good to be true it probably is." (Or, "don't believe everything you hear.")EXTRALIFE, INC.

REVIEW: THE SEARCH FOR ANNE PERRY by Joanne Drayton

This fascinating, articulate, literary biography is a must-read for any aficionado of Anne Perry, for devotees of detective fiction, and for writers and readers wishing to examine in depth the writing process of a highly talented author (both Anne Perry and Joanne Drayton). This book has convinced me to both return to the novels of Anne Perry and reread in sequence; and to begin seeking out literary biography in general. Joanne Drayton has gifted us with a literate, amazing, detailed, always entrancing biography.THE SEARCH FOR ANNE PERRY

REVIEW: THE MURDER FARM by Andrea Maria Schenkel

An imaginatively-managed approach to a basically straightforward plot theme is presented in such a way that neighbors, police, and reader are left pondering. Use of multiple first-person narratives by various observers fleshes out character and backgrounds.

REVIEW: CRADLE TO GRAVE by Aline Templeton

CRADLE TO GRAVE is an incredible mystery plus thriller that breathes new life into the phrase "nonstop action/adventure/thrills." With a plot as tautly constructed as a boa hugging its prey, with danger literally at every turn, and characters deeply designed with many of them unacquainted with Truth, author Aline Templeton delivers breathless delight in suspense on every page.

Review: PHYSICAL REHABILITATION OF ANIMALS by Susan E. Davis, PT

In the last two-thirds of a century medical advances have mightily extended the lives and quality of lives of humans and domestic pets. Both live longer so the need for treatments to ease health issues has become essential.

But many domestic pet owners aren't aware of all the options for treatment or are bewildered by the quantity of choices. Others, whose pets currently remain healthy, wish to act proactively to prevent troubles and injuries. An efficient reference source to meet all these varied needs is Susan E. Davis, PT, "Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation for Animals: A Guide for the Consumer." If you are a pet owner, or if you are looking to acquire a pet, this is the reference source you need. (I am an owner of multiple pets and am speaking from experience.)
