Review: A DARK AND TWISTED TIDE by S. J. Bolton

Review: A DARK AND TWISTED TIDE by S. J. Bolton

Each of Ms. Bolton 's Lacey Flint novels I have found fascinating, but emotionally wrenching. Certainly this is the case for the newest entry. Author Bolton is talented at weaving complicated murder cases, with motives either seemingly pointless or unrecoverable, and murderers who emotionally are "inhuman." So I always read on, intrigued to discover what new has percolated in Ms.. Bolton 's fertile imaginings. Always, I am surprised. Always, I am perturbed, if that is the right word--or tripped out of joint, by her protagonist, the truly "alien" Lacey Flint, who is just not.like any other character--anywhere.
