An excellent book proposal is a key strategy to snag a well-connected literary agent.

Mallory Heart Reviews Mission Statement

Mallory Heart Reviews Mission Statement

I review because I read. I love to read; reading is my life, my breath, my sanity. I review all I read, and I don't review unless I've read. My reviews are fair, honest, authentic-and they are my opinion. I do not receive remittance, nor will I accept accusations of falsehood. Reviews are OPINION-a matter of personal taste. Here is mine. If you choose to read my reviews, thank you. If you do not approve of my reviews, please go elsewhere.

Invisible Hiatus Dec. 21-Jan. 7

Mallory Heart Reviews will be on invisible hiatus from Dec. 21 until Jan. 7. What does this mean for you, Authors and Constant Readers? Not much difference: I will still be reading, still be reviewing, still be posting reviews, still host Blog Tour stops. The main difference is for me: due to health concerns, I simply must convince myself I am taking a break from the constant stress of the ever-higher Review Mountain (as the other stresses I can’t alter right now). So in addition to reading to review, I shall be taking “me” time to read for pleasure, something I did not at all in September and October, and only briefly in November and so far in December. I’ll be reading books on 12-12-12 (a little belated ) and on 12-21-12, for example, and catching up on books I’ve bought this year but haven’t read (“The White Forest,” “Girl of Nightmares,” Dennis Lehane’s “The Given Day” and “Live by Night,” Adam Nevill’s “Banquet for the Damned” and finish Mr. Nevill’s “The Last Days.”) So why am I telling YOU this, Constant Readers? Sometimes one has to trick the subconscious into believing.:)

Last week I began listening books for my “2013 Personal Challenge” which will include reading books and series I’ve put off, such as George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire,” and novels by, for example, Michael Marshall Smith which I greatly desire to read, but simply have not had time.
